FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Milwaukee to Host World Premiere of “You Don’t Know Nicotine”
With its original release canceled due to COVID-19, the latest documentary from award-winning Milwaukee director Aaron Biebert is set to premiere at a pop-up drive-in in Milwaukee’s Third Ward this Saturday, September 26th.
MILWAUKEE, Sept. 21, 2020 – For immediate release – You Don’t Know Nicotine, the documentary film that broke records as the most-backed Wisconsin film project on Kickstarter finally has its world premiere after the Riverside Theater premiere in May was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
“We were expecting 2300 people to join us at the Riverside Theater in May and it was a very emotional decision to cancel it,” said director Aaron Biebert. “Not only do we believe the film covers a vital topic right now, but I was very excited to show off our city.”
In response to the cancelations of the Riverside Theater event and several film festival premieres around the world, Biebert’s team at Third Line Films invested in a three-story portable movie screen they plan to utilize afterward to support other local filmmakers. “Milwaukee is perfect for an event like this,” said Biebert. “We’re excited to show off the Historic Third Ward where our studio is located.”
The drive-in premiere will be set up in the parking lot south of the Italian Community Center on September 26th. The event begins at 6 pm with live music featuring artists from N43 Records and opening remarks from the director and crew. The movie begins after sunset. Gates open at 5 pm for preferred ticket holders to begin parking and 5:30 for general tickets.
